Rookie quarterback Deshaun Watson, who plays for the Houston Texans, gave his paycheck from his first NFL game to three workers from the cafeteria who’d lost everything during Hurricane Harvey.
“If you can, you must” says Deshaun Watson.
Watson surprised the NRG Stadium employees when he handed over his first NFL pay check, from one game, worth about $28,000 to help them get back on their feet after both their homes and cars received substantial damage from the hurricane.
In a video shared by the Houston Texans, Watson is shown distributing three envelopes with ribbons on them to three women who work in the cafeteria and serve the team.
In the video, Watson says:
“For what you all do for us every day and never complain, I really appreciate you all, so I wanted to give my first game check to y’all to help y’all out in some type of way,” “Here you guys go.”
