As a senior citizen with health issues in the middle of a global pandemic, Layne McKeel isn’t able to get out much. He had just received his disability check when he decided to stock up on food and supplies at a supermarket in Georgetown, Tennessee.

Unfortunately, he had just missed the senior discount hours. His grocery tab amounted to $173 but he was only able to pull $140 from his wallet. Layne said he’d put some items back on the shelf but before he could, the 17-year-old cashier named Elizabeth Taylor insisted on paying for all of his groceries.

When asked what inspired her to show such kindness to a stranger, Taylor said, “We’ve seen a lot of older people, and they’re all trying to buy groceries and a lot of places have ran out of stuff, and so the older people are kind of taking the downfall for that. I just try to give back when I can.”

McKeel was extremely touched by the young lady’s gesture. “She’s just a little angel is what she was. You know, just the light of day.” McKeel said.
